He played professionally in the National Basketball Association and American Bar Association, from 1964 to 1974. A 6"3" guard from the University of Toledo, Jones started and ended his career with the National Basketball Association"s Philadelphia 76ers, who drafted him in 1964. A high-scoring jump shooter, he averaged at least 22 points per game during each of his first four seasons in the league, and during one stretch with the Rockets in 1968, he scored at least 30 points in 23 consecutive games.
He was also named to four American Bar Association All-Star teams, and he was the first president of the American Bar Association Player"s Association.
Upon retiring from professional basketball in 1974, Jones had tallied 10,505 combined National Basketball Association/American Bar Association career points. Larry is now a substitute teacher in Columbus City Schools.
