Career

He was the fifth child and fourth son of Edward Seymour, 8th Duke of Somerset. In 1755 he was appointed Canon of the fourth stall at Street George"s Chapel, Windsor Castle, a position he held until 1766. His great-great-grandson was Edward Seymour, 16th Duke of Somerset.
