Career
He spent seven seasons in the North American Soccer League, seven seasons in the Major Indoor Soccer League and two in the Continental Indoor Soccer League. He also earned two caps with the United States. national team in 1985. Gorsek signed with the Portland Timbers of the North American Soccer League in 1977 as a striker replacement player.
He played three games that season, none in 1978 and only one in 1979.
In 1980, he saw time in twelve games, but was traded to the San Diego Sockers. In 1981, he played two games, but is not listed on the team’s roster for 1982.
He then played fifteen games during the 1984 outdoor season. The NASL folded at the end of the 1984 season and the Sockers jumped to the Major Indoor Soccer League.
In 1988, he joined the Los Angeles Lazers for the 1988-1989 MISL season, but the team folded at the end of the season and Gorsek moved to the Kansas City Comets for the 1989-1990 season.
However, there are no records for where Gorsek was during the 1990-1991 season. He was with the Saint Louis Storm for the 1991-1992 season. In 1993, Gorsek returned to Portland to play two seasons with the Portland Pride of the Continental Indoor Soccer League (CISL).
Gorsek earned his first cap with the United States. national team as a substitute for Arnie Mausser in a 2-0 loss to Canada on April 2, 1985.
His second cap came two days later as the United States. tied Canada. In this game, Gorsek started and Mausser replaced him at half time.
