He appeared 202 times on Columbia Broadcasting System"s western series, Gunsmoke, starring James Arness, and in 144 episodes of the American Broadcasting Company/Desilu production, The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp, with Hugh O"Brian in the title role of deputy Marshal Wyatt Earp. Buddy Roosevelt made similar appearances in sixty-five Wyatt Earp episodes. His other multiple appearances, mainly in westerns, included Annie Oakley (13 times), The Gene Autry Show (ten), The Texan and Have Gun, Will Travel (eight each), The Adventures of Jim Bowie (six), The Range Rider (five), Death Valley Days, The Rifleman, and Outlaws (four each), Buffalo Bill, Junior. and The Big Valley (three each), and Tales of Wells Fargo, Rawhide, Johnny Ringo, and Wanted: Dead or Alive (twice each).
Among the many parts Noel played were hotel clerk, rancher, cowhand, courtroom spectator, henchman, prisoner, bartender, gambler, dinner and party guest, circus worker, church member, guard, bank clerk, miner, vigilante, and numerous others
He also had bit parts, most uncredited, in such films as The Younger Brothers (1949, his first part), Ride the Manitoba Down (1952), Pack Train and Jack McCall Desperado (both 1953), Masterson of Kansas and Battle of Rogue River (both 1954), and Quantrill"s Raiders (1958).
