Joe Fallon is an American professional ice hockey player.
Education
Before playing professionally, Fallon attended the University of Vermont, where he holds several goaltending records. Fallon completed his collegiate career as the University of Vermont record holder with 20 shutouts over his college career He was also the Catamounts single-season record 6 shutouts, twice in 2005-2006 and 2006-2007.
Career
He is currently playing for Lausitzer Füchse of the DEL2. Fallon was selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 6th round (167th overall) of the 2005 National Hockey League Entry Draft. Amateur
Fallon spent three seasons in the USHL, playing for the Rochester Mustangs and Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, before spending four years playing for the University of Vermont.
Professional
Fallon"s professional career has seen him playing extensively in the ECHL and AHL. He spent the 2008-2009 season almost exclusively in the ECHL, seeing only back-up ice time in the AHL with the Rockford IceHogs for 2 games.
2009-2010, he spent completely in the AHL, playing for Rockford and the Peoria Rivermen. 2010-2011 was spent splitting time between the AHL and ECHL, playing for the San Antonio Rampage and Las Vegas Wranglers earning a selection as the ECHL Goaltender Of The Week from January 17-23.
On September 16, 2011, the Las Vegas Wranglers announced that they had re-signed Fallon to play for the 2011-2012 season. He spent the majority of the season with the Wranglers, with short call-ups to the AHL"s Bridgeport Sound Tigers and Houston Aeros, earning All-ECHL second team honors and helping his team in the postseason to the Kelly Cup Finals.
On May 23, 2013, it was confirmed that Fallon was signed to play the 2013-2014 season in Norway"s GET-ligaen with Lillehammer IK. After a single season in the Danish Metal Ligaen the following season with Frederikshavn White Hawks, Fallon continued his European career in Germany in signing a one-year deal with second division club, Lausitzer Füchse on July 2, 2015.
