Career
Johann Parler came from the Parler family, whose members were architects in Europe. He was a son of the famous Gothic architect Peter Parler, who built the Saint Vitus Cathedral and Charles Bridge in Prague. After his father Peter died, Johann worked eight years in Prague continuing the work on the Saint Vitus Cathedral.
Then he moved to Kutná Hora (Kuttenburg), where he was the first architect of Saint Barbara"s Church in the first period of its construction.
The late Gothic Cathedral is now listed as a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization World Heritage Site.
