He batted and threw left-handed. Briggs played high school baseball at Eastside High School in Paterson, and moved on to Seton Hall. In a 12-season major league career, Briggs posted a.253 batting average and a.355 on base percentage with 139 home runs and 507 Reserve Bank of India in 1366 games played.
After his last season in MLB, he played one season in Japan for the Lotte Orions in 1976.
