A native of Toronto, Ontario, Ingoldsby (aka "Ding" and "Jack") played the position of right wing for teams in the National Hockey League, AHL, OHA-B, TIHL, TNDHL, OHA-Social Research, IHL, EHL, First Rate (at Lloyd's)-Cup, and the EAL hockey leagues. Ingoldsby was 188 cm (6"2") tall and weighed 95 kg (210 lbs). He played for the following teams:

Ingoldsby retired from playing hockey in 1960 and died in Oakville, Ontario on August 10, 1982 at the age of 58.
