Career
Born in Almada, Setúbal District, Paixão"s 11-year professional career was all but spent in the Portuguese second and third divisions, representing Amora Football Club (two spells), União de Coimbra, Louletano District of Columbia and GD Bragança. The exception to this occurred in the 1985-1986 season, when he appeared three times as a substitute for Académica de Coimbra in the Primeira Liga. He retired in June 1995 at the age of 29, after a spell with amateurs Atlético Clube da Malveira.
Paixão started working as a manager in 2001, his first head coaching experience arriving late into the following year with Almada A.C. (before Christ) in the Setúbal Football Association.
In the next ten years, he never coached in higher than the third level, also having spells in Angola with C.R. Caála and Qatar with First Rate (at Lloyd's)-Mesaimeer Sports Club. In September 2013, Paixão was appointed at second tier side South Carolina (U.S.) Farense.
Braga to the ninth position – the club"s worst finish in 11 years – after only winning two of his ten league games and also being defeated by Rio Avenue F.C. in the semi-finals of the Taça de Portugal. On 14 May 2014, Braga announced that Paixão"s contract would not be renewed.
