Career
He was a pitcher over parts of 13 seasons (1960–1972) with the Pittsburgh Pirates, San Francisco Giants, Cincinnati Reds and Houston Astros. An alumnus of the University of Mississippi, for his career he compiled a 61–65 record with a 3.52 earned run average and 743 strikeouts in 419 appearances, most as a relief pitcher.
