Career
Ucha earned an Bachelor of Laws degree from Anambra State University of Science & Technology. After returning to the Senate in 2007 Ucha was appointed to committees on Works, Senate Services, Inter-Parliamentary Affairs, Independent National Electoral Commission and Commerce. In a mid-term evaluation of Senators in May 2009, ThisDay said he had not sponsored any bills but had sponsored or co-sponsored several motions.
Ucha"s constituency was troubled by disputes between the Ezza and Ezillo communities since May 2008.
In March 2010 the Inspector-General of Police, Ogbonna Onovo, ordered the arrest of Ucha and 40 other stakeholders from Ebonyi state, alleging that they had been stirring up trouble between the communities. The group also accused Ucha of fanning the embers of the crisis with the "massive war chest he has stockpiled as chairman of the senate’s elitist" Committee for Works.
