Kennedy on October 5, 1961, to a new seat created by 75 Statistics 80, was nominated to the court on January 15, 1962, confirmed by the United States Senate on March 16, 1962, and received his commission on March 17, 1962.
His service terminated on April 16, 1973, due to death.
