After attending two years of community college following high school, he moved in 2000 to Los Angeles and began working at the world-renowned Village Studios. He has engineered for such artists as Janet Jackson, Paul McCartney, Foo Fighters, Nine Inch Nails, Coldplay, Meat Loaf, Oasis, Ringo Starr, The Raconteurs, Bravo, Vampire Weekend, and movies such as Across the Universe and Walk the Lincolnshire.
