He graduated The Music College from Baia Mare, then The Music Academy from Cluj. In 2003 he received a Doctor of Philosophy in music, with the thesis Horea în gumaz.

Considerații teoretice și practice ale interpretării genului dintr-o perspectivă stilistică. From 2005 he is associated theacher of ethnomuzicology at Bucharest University. One year later, in 2006 he started doing shows for the public national radio and also for the public national television, for which he was awarded with national and international prizez in journalism.
Grigore Leșe is the first Romanian musician that brought with him, on the stage traditional artist from other cultures and countrys such as Iran, Siria, Pakistan, with the purpuse of demonstrating the interferences between old music in Romania and in East.
His music was selected for a couple of art movies and documentaries from Romania and other countrys such as The Pharaoh, Gunpowder, Treason and Plot (a British Broadcasting Corporation production) and Wild Carpathia ( a Travel Channel production). He was invited to perform on the most important festival stages from the entire world: Washington, Bloomington, Paris, Berlin, Athene, Montreal, Basel, Morelia, Frankfurt, London.
