He was originally drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the fourth round of the 2001 NFL Draft and last played for the Tampa Bay Storm of the Arena Football League in 2006. He played college football at the University of South Florida. National Football League
After successfully kicking a 43-yard field goal in the first half of a game against the New York Giants on December 15, 2001, Gramática jumped up in celebration and tore the Anterior Cruciate Ligament in his right knee (plant leg) upon landing.
He missed the rest of the season, finishing his rookie year with 16 field goals in 20 attempts.
He played two more seasons for the Cardinals before signing with the New York Giants in the 2004 offseason. However, he was released during the preseason.
He played one game for the Miami Dolphins in 2004 when kicker Olindo Mare was injured, but was cut from the team after his first career miss on an extra point kick, which came in a one-point loss. In the NFL, he made 37 of his 48 field goal attempts and 60 of his 61 extra point attempts.
Arena Football League
In 2006, he returned to football as the kicker for the Tampa Bay Storm of the Arena Football League.
He had an inauspicious start to his Arena Football career, missing one of two extra point tries and all three of his field goal attempts in his first American Federation of Labor-Congress half. Through eleven Arena games, he was 65-for-71 on extra points and 8-for-18 on field goals. Bill Gramática is the younger brother of fellow kicker Martín Gramática and the older brother of kicker Santiago Gramática.
He played college football at the University of South Florida.
