Career
Born in Toulouse, Novès, who played on the wing, was capped seven times for the France national team Novès returned to Stade Toulousain as head coach in 1993. He was one of the candidates tipped to replace Bernard Laporte at the end of the 2007 Rugby World Cup, but that position went to Marc Lièvremont.
Novès took over from Philippe Saint-André as the coach of the French national team on 1 November 2015.
