Starring alongside Kristen Stewart, Hirsh portrayed the role of Rachel Bruin in Speak. Being a military family, they moved a lot, starting in Pensacola, Florida, where Hallee landed her first role after her first audition in Orlando for Disney"s Big Red Boat cruise line. When she was 4, her mom was transferred to Long Island, and Hallee began taking the train into Manhattan after school to audition almost daily, landing roles such as Annabel Fox in You"ve Got Mail.
After her agent Abby Bluestone moved to Los Angeles, Hallee at age 11 and her family followed, with her mom getting re-stationed in Monterey, California.
Hallee lived in the Oakwood Toluca Hills apartment complex - alongside other notable child stars such as Hilary Duff - with her dad, which she has referred to as "an important part of her life". She graduated Magna Cum Laude from University of California, Los Angeles in 2011, majoring in anthropology and Chinese.
She first portrayed Rachel Greene in the 2001-2002 season of Emergency in a storyline where a now teenage and rebellious Rachel leaves her mom in Saint Louis to be with her father, Mark Greene, with whom she feuds but eventually they reconcile before Mark succumbs to brain cancer at the end of the 8th season. In the Emergency series finale, aired April 2, 2009, entitled "And in the End", Hirsh"s character returned as a candidate interviewing for medical school, bringing the Greene family history full circle.
Following her turns on Emergency and Judge Advocate General, she starred in the award winning Discovery Kids Channel teen series, Flight 29 Down.
Often billed as a Lost for teens, the three season series followed a group of teens surviving on a deserted island after a charter flight they were travelling aboard crash landed. She is the recipient of two Youth in Film Young Artist Awards and was nominated for best acting awards for four other roles.
