Hayley McFarland grew up in Edmond, Oklahoma.
She is best known for her portrayal of Emily Lightman on the Fox television series Lie to Maine and Brooke Putner on the Forex television series Sons of Anarchy. She began acting in musical theater productions at Oklahoma’s Lyric Theater during her summers. While living in Oklahoma she studied at Michelle De Long"s Acts of the Apostles Acting Academy which notes fellow alumni such as Ryan Merriman of Pretty Little Liars fame.
De Long is credited with sending a tape of the young actor to a manager in Los Los Angeles
In 2008 McFarland and her mother relocated to Los Angeles permanently. Her first major role came in the form of an independent film, An American Crime, starring Ellen Page and Catherine Keener.
She has appeared in television shows including Gilmore Girls, Emergency, and Criminal Minds, and films including Ring Around the Rosie, and Winged Creatures. She was a series regular on the television series Lie to Maine.
