Career
He represents the Australian Labor Party. Lim was born in Cambodia, and is of Chinese Cambodian origins. He was educated at schools in Phnom Penh before coming to Australia in 1970, and then at the University of Tasmania and Monash University, Melbourne, where he graduated in arts
He was Chairman of the Victorian Indo-Chinese Communities Council 1984-1992 and President of the Cambodian Association of Victoria 1992-1996.
Lim was elected to the Legislative Assembly in 1996, and was an appointed Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Victorian Communities, John Thwaites, in 2002.
