Career
His boat, Mon Pays, was wrecked during Hurricane Juan. To pay for boat repairs, Marcoux began writing his first novel, speaking at conferences, and writing for trade magazines. In November 2009, he left Eastern Passage and was supposedly lost on his voyage from Nova Scotia to Bermuda.
Marcoux studied Commerce at the University of New Brunswick.
Marcoux started then sold sold his two successful Montreal businesses. The first was the manufacture of flight suits.
The second was the manufacture of picture frames. In August 1981, Maccoux purchased the vessel Jonathan in Daytona Beach, Florida.
In 2003, he completed an 18-year world sailing circumnavigation with a solo trip from Australia to Halifax.
