Career
After establishment of Kingdom of Romania, Câmpineanu was appointed the Minister of Foreign Affairs and held the office from February 2, 1885 until October 27, 1885. He was then the Mayor of Bucharest in 1887 and headed the National Bank of Romania as Governor in 1888 before his death on November 13, 1888. One of central streets in Bucharest was named after Câmpineanu.
His father was Ion Câmpineanu (1798-1863), a participant in the Wallachian Revolution of 1848.
