He made his professional debut on 12 December 2013 in a Union of European Football Associations Europa League game against Swedish side Elfsborg. He replaced Frédéric Bulot after 77 minutes. He stated that it was difficult to play for another country if your last name ended in "ić".
He debuted for the Bosnia and Herzegovina under-21 team in a game against Kazakhstan, in Sarajevo, on 2 September 2015.
In February 2016, he was voted 2015 Bosnian young player of the year, by Bosnian sports journalists. Deni is the son of a famous Bosnian ex-football player, Cvijan Milošević.
