He was also a director of the Charitable Corporation at the time of its collapse. He was Recorder of Poole from 1719 until his death. Bond was the son of the wealthy barrister Nathaniel Bond, who came from a family who had been merchants in Dorchester, and bought Creech Grange in 1691.
