Career
After finishing at Louisiana State University, Gros was drafted in the first round of the 1962 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers and in the second round of the 1962 American Football League Draft by the Houston Oilers. Gros opted for the NFL where he played three seasons with the Green Bay Packers (1962–1964), two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles (1964–1965), and three seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers (1967–1969). In 1970, Gros played one game with the New Orleans Saints.
Gros finished his career with 821 rushes for 3,157 yards (an average of 38 yards per rush) and 28 touchdowns.
He also had 142 receptions for 1,255 yards (an average of 88 yards per reception) and ten touchdowns. He died at the age of 72 on July 15, 2013.
