He was closely associated with the Dudley family. He wrote a genealogy of Queen Elizabeth the First, for which she gave him an annual pension of five pounds. A Latin poem of his was printed in Wilson"s Epigrammata, 1552, 4to.
He was elected Member of Parliament for Carlisle in 1547, March 1553 and possibly 1559 and for Warwick in 1571.
In 1572 he was appointed Justice of the Peace for Warwickshire.
