Career
He is best known for officiating at the 1998 Fédération internationale de football association World Cup and the 1996 Olympic Games. 1998 World Cup The Group B match between Cameroon and Italy was controversial after Lennie sent off Cameroon defender Raymond Kalla after he collided with Italy"s Luigi Di Biagio chasing a loose ball. After the match Fédération internationale de football association was criticised in Cameroon for appointing officials from "non-footballing nations".
National Soccer League Lennie refereed 195 National Soccer League matches before retiring in 2004.
His current occupation is the Referee Development Manager for Football West and is also an elite referees assesor for the Asian Football Confederation and Fédération internationale de football association. In December 2012 Lennie was preselected by Washington Labor for the Western Australian Legislative Assembly seat of Scarborough. He subsequently ran for the Hamersley Ward at the City of Stirling elections in October 2013.
