Ernst-Ludwig von Thadden is a German economist, professor and President of the University of Mannheim since October 2012.
Education
He obtained his Doctor of Philosophy in Economics at the University of Bonn within the "European Doctoral Program in Economics" in 1991, after having earned an undergraduate degree in mathematics and economics at the Heidelberg University and a Master of Philisophy at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Career
Previously he was professor of Economics at the Département d"Econométrie et Economie Politique at the University of Lausanne. He is Research Fellow at the Center for Economic Policy Research (London), former Resident Fellow of the Center for Advanced Studies in the Behavioral Sciences in Stanford, and Director of the doctoral program of the International Center FAME at the Universities of Lausanne and Geneva. His research primarily covers corporate finance, banking, international finance, political economy, and contract theory.
