Career
She traveled in the country for 10 months, both photographing and drawing buildings, ultimately attracting global attention to the dawn of Mexico"s modern architecture. In California, her photography includes images taken around 1940 documenting Northern California Usonian houses designed by architect Frank Lloyd Wright. From 1938 to 1940, she photographed the Golden Gate International Exposition, which took place on Treasure Island near San Francisco.
Her photography collection is held by the Getty Research Institute and the Environmental Design Archives at the University of California, Berkeley.
Born was born 1902 in Palo Alto, California. She grew up in Piedmont and graduated from Oakland Technical High School in 1920.
She studied architecture at University of California, Berkeley under John Galen Howard.
