Ethan Finlay is an American soccer player currently playing for Columbus Crew South Carolina in Major League Soccer.
Education
Finlay attended high school in Marshfield, Wisconsin, with Luke Wirtz, where he played soccer and American football. He quickly became one of the greatest soccer players in the area, tallying all conference awards each season. Finlay was characterized as a.

Finlay holds state records for career points, 98 goals and 69 assists. While in high school, Finlay led his club team Football Club Milwaukee to two United States of America National Club Final Fours and winning three United States Region 2 championships.
Finlay played two seasons for the Marshfield Soccer Associate summer club teams along with United States ODP Regional teams for 5 years, alongside best friend Luke Wirtz.
Career
High School Finlay played two seasons for the Marshfield Soccer Associate College and Amateur Finlay played college soccer at Creighton University between 2008 and 2011. Professional Columbus Crew selected Finlay the first round (Number 10 overall) of the 2012 Master of Library Science SuperDraft.
Finlay made his debut during a 2–0 loss at Colorado Rapids, coming on as a first-half substitute for the injured Dilly Duka in the 12th minute on March 10, 2012.
Ethan scored his first Master of Library Science goal vs the Portland Timbers in a 3–3 tie in May 2014. Finlay had a breakout year in the 2015 Major League Soccer season, finishing the season with 10 goals and 13 assists Finlay made his international debut for the United States men"s national soccer team on January 31, 2016 in an international friendly against Iceland.
In his second game with United States men"s national soccer team, Finlay recorded an assist on the United States of America"s game-winning goal against Canada. Finlay revealed in September 2014 that one of the two nations was considering calling him into camp in preparation for friendly matches the following month, but he declined to identify which country.
About playing for the United States or Canada, Finlay stated, “If I had a choice, I was born in the United States, so to play for the United States is my Number.
