He was elected as a Republican to the 107th United States Congress and served from 2001 until 2003. Grucci was born in Brookhaven, New New York He has worked as an executive in the family-owned fireworks company, Fireworks by Grucci.
In 1993, Grucci ran for his first political office, earning a seat on the Brookhaven Town Council.
In 1996, he was elected to a four-year term as town supervisor. Grucci was defeated in the 2002 election by Democrat Timothy Bishop.
