Before switching to Taekwondo, Bea was an artistic gymnast. Bea failed to make the team to the 1988 Seoul Olympics because of her age. Instead she joined the Philippine Delegation to Seoul to cover the gymnastics event.
She also advertised for Ivory Soap as well as Nestle Philippines.
She currently endorses Phiten, a Japanese lifestyle brand that promotes health, style, and comfort. Bea is married to Jean Henri Lhuillier, Honorary Consul General of The Most Serene Republic of San Marino to the Philippines and the man behind the Cebuana Lhuillier Pawnshop chain.
She is a mother of three boys and one girl.
