Career
He is a left-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler. He started playing for Hampshire during the 2004 season, before which he played for Sussex. Taylor, who also played for Wiltshire, has three hat-tricks to his name ( and was listed in the 2005 C&G Trophy-winning Hampshire squad.
Of late Billy has struggled to get in the side and is generally only used in the one-day format of the game.
Billy also contributes a lot to charity. In 2008 Billy walked from the County Cricket Ground in Hove to the Rose Bowl in Southampton for charity.
Hampshire chairman Rod Bransgrove announced on 27 August 2009 that the club had released Taylor, ending his five-year tenure at the club He now plays for the Hampshire League side Totton & Eling.
In 2011, he was added to the England and Wales Cricket Board list of reserve umpires, alongside Russell Evans and Alex Wharf.
