Career
Despite a sterling record in the minor leagues, he never played well in the majors. He is currently the hitting coach of the Norfolk Tides, the Class-American Automobile Association affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles. Since the end of his playing days, Komminsk has been a minor league coach and manager with several teams, including the Kinston Indians.
On June 5, 1979, he was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 1st round (4th pick) of the 1979 amateur draft.
On January 20, 1987, he was traded by the Atlanta Braves to the Milwaukee Brewers for Dion James. He currently is a batting coach with the Aberdeen Ironbirds.
