Brian Francis Gregory is an American college basketball coach and the former head men"s basketball coach of the Georgia Technical Yellow Jackets men"s basketball team
Education
From 1985 to 1986, Gregory attended the United States. Naval Academy where he played on the Navy team that featured David Robinson and advanced to the Elite Eight of the National Collegiate Athletic Association Tournament. In 1990, Gregory graduated from Oakland University with a bachelor of arts in secondary education.
Career
He has previously been head coach for the Dayton Flyers and an assistant for the Michigan State Spartans men"s basketball team He then went to Oakland University where he was a three-time all conference selection and in 1990 was named an Academic All-American. He went on to earn a master of arts in athletic administration at Michigan State, graduating in 1992.

He was an assistant for the Michigan State Spartans men"s basketball team for five years, from 1999 to 2003, under head coach Tom Izzo.
Dayton Flyers
Gregory was the head basketball coach of the Dayton Flyers. As Flyers head coach, he led the team to the 2004 National Collegiate Athletic Association tournament and the 2009 National Collegiate Athletic Association tournament as well as the 2008 National Invitation Tournament.
He capped off the 2009–2010 season by leading the Flyers to the 2010 National Invitation Tournament trophy over the North Carolina Tar Heels men"s basketball team On January 14, 2008, Gregory led the Dayton Flyers to a top-14 ranking in the Associated Press poll.
This was the highest ranking for Dayton in 40 years.
Gregory had a 172–94 record with the Flyers. Georgia Technical
On March 28, 2011, it was announced that Gregory would become the 13th Georgia Technical Yellow Jackets men"s basketball head coach, replacing Paul Hewitt. On March 16, 2015, Georgia Technical announced that Gregory would continue as head basketball coach for another year, despite the fact he had never coached the team to a winning record better than 16-15 or a conference finish higher than ninth.
The athletic director said it was a difficult decision, but in the end felt that Gregory deserved a chance to try to improve the results.
He noted that fourteen of Technical"s losses in the 2014-2015 season were decided by six points or fewer, or ended in overtime. On March 25, 2016 Georgia Technical Athletic Director Mike Bobinski announced that Gregory would not return for the 2016-2017 season.
