Marunde was selected as a contestant on The Ultimate Fighter: Team Carwin versus Team Nelson. Marunde faced George Lockhart in the preliminary round. Marunde was later selected by Shane Carwin as his second pick.
On Episode 4, Marunde was selected to fight veteran Julian Lane.
