He spent almost his entire career playing for FK Željezničar. That is the club where he began playing football as a child, and in 1994 he started playing for the first team At first, he played as a right back, but in 2000, FK Željezničar"s coach Amar Osim moved him to midfield.

He had a good technique too, so he could, if needed, play in more offensive roles. In 2004, he moved to Cypriot First Division side American Electric Power Paphos.
He moved to Hajduk Split at the beginning of next year and finally, in 2006. winter transfer window, he came back to Bosnia-Herzegovina and signed for Zrinjski Mostar. Before the start of 2006-2007 season, he retired from professional football at the age of 31.
