Career
Russell was Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Under Secretary of State for Air in 1936-1937 and Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Chancellor of the Exchequer in 1937-1938. In 1943, Russell died of fever whilst on active service in Egypt as a captain of the Coldstream Guards in World World War II, aged 34.
