Career
He played for one season with the Pittsburgh Steelers in the NFL, and for several different teams in the Canadian Football League, most notably Montreal Alouettes from 1972-1979. He was drafted in the 1970 NFL Draft out of West Virginia, where he captained the Mountaineers to a 10-1 record in 1969 and a victory in the Peach Bowl. He was named Most Valuable Player in the game.
He is the younger brother of Romeo Crennel, former head coach of the Cleveland Browns and the Kansas City Chiefs.
