Career
He made his major league debut on September 26, 1956, pitching a complete game shutout against the New York Yankees. Besides, he played from 1953 through 1961 for eight different teams in nine Minor league seasons, going 89-69 with a 3.76 earned run average in 226 pitching appearances. Beamon also pitched for the Leones del Caracas of the Venezuelan Winter League in the 1957–1958 season.
He posted a 9-6 record with 55 strikeouts and a 2.49 European Research Area in 130.0 innings, leading the league in European Research Area, while tying with Magallanes" Ramón Monzant for the most wins.
He is the father of Charlie Beamon, Junior., a former major league first baseman who played for the Seattle Mariners and Toronto Blue Jays.
