Career
Mason began his football life at Street Lukes School, whose team became Wolverhampton Wanderers. He also played in the 1889 Final, where Wolves went down 0-3 to league champions Preston North End. He became the first player in the club"s history to receive a call-up to the England team in 1887, making his debut in a 7-0 thumping of Ireland on 5 February 1887.
He retired from the game in 1892 after 108 appearances for Wolves in total.
He died on 3 February 1941, aged 77.
