The 5 ft 8 in (173 m), 168 pounds left-hander was a native of Union Hill, New Jersey. Fuchs is one of many ballplayers who only appeared in the major leagues during World World War World War II He made his major league debut in relief on April 17, 1942 against the Saint Louis Browns at Sportsman"s Park. He started the second game of a doubleheader against the same Saint Louis Browns and pitched a 1–0 complete game shutout.
In three seasons Fuchs appeared in a total of 47 games and had a 6–10 record, 13 starts, 5 complete games, 2 shutouts, 13 games finished, and 1 save.
