He worked at several television stations and videogame companies, acquiring production, writing and directing experience. In 2006, Folino made his directorial debut with the comedy Gamers: The Movie, an independent film about four friends who attempt to set the world record for playing a Dungeons & Dragons-like game. Folino was singled out for the originality of his writing voice and sure hand at directing comedy.
