After a year (2005-2006) as assistant conductor to the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Power was named assistant conductor (2006-2008) of the Ensemble Intercontemporain, Paris, where he worked with Pierre Boulez, Susanna Mälkki and Peter Eötvöson He has conducted the British Broadcasting Corporation Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre Philharmonique de Luxembourg, Orchestre de Bretagne, the Philharmonia, and returned to the Ensemble Intercontemporain and the London Philharmonic Orchestra. 2009 saw his debuts with the Nippon Hōsō Kyōkai Symphony Orchestra in Suntory Hall, Tokyo (conducting Stockhausen"s Gruppen), the Gran Theatre del Liceu, Barcelona, and the Philharmonie, Luxembourg, and broadcasts on British Broadcasting Corporation Radio 3, Radio France and OE1.
Recent engagements include the London Philharmonic Orchestra (in collaboration with composer/performer Tristan Murail, Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, Philharmonia, Ensemble Intercontemporain, National Youth Orchestra of Catalonia, ensemble BCN216 and Klangforum Wien.
Engagements in the 2012-2013 season include debuts with the Avanti! Chamber Orchestra (Finland), Ensemble Contrechamps (Geneva), and Musikfabrik (Cologne), and conducting the opening concert of the 2012 Wien Modern festival. Following an invitation to conduct de Falla, El retablo de maese Pedro at the Lucerne Festival, he stepped in at short notice for an indisposed Pierre Boulez and the Lucerne Festival Academy Orchestra in the Lucerne KKL and Salle Pleyel, Paris.
