lieutenant is unknown who his teacher was, but he declared that he had been in Paris for 15 years when he joined the Antwerp Guild of Saint Luke in 1694. In 1696 he became deacon of the guild and took on Karel van Falens as his pupil. He is known for landscapes with soldiers.
