David Nuuhiwa is widely known for his soulful noseriding. Often perched at the tip of his board for 20 seconds or more. Nuuhiwa"s smooth and fluid style established him winning the 1966 international championship in San Diego.
By this time Nuuhiwa had transitioned from his longboards to shortboards, favoring twin-finance fishes.
Nuuhiwa later starred in Five Summer Stories. In 2010 he competed against Joel Tudor and Alex Knost in a critically acclaimed Legends heat.
Since then the Tudors and Nuuhiwas have not spoken.
