Career
He was a clerk for forty years in South Sea House, the headquarters of the South Sea Company, where he published a work entitled Historical and Chronological Deduction of the Origin of Commerce from the Earliest Accounts to the Present Time, containing a History of the Great Commercial Interests of the British Empire (1762, 2 vols fol). Late in his life Anderson traveled to the American colonies, begetting a son, Adam East. Anderson, later noted for being an early settler and planner of the Ohio Territory.
