Career
He had also run as a Liberal-Labour candidate in 1948 but was unsuccessful. He was re-elected in the 1955 and 1959 elections and served in the legislature until his death in 1961. He was born in Fort William, Alberta.
Wren sat with the Liberal caucus and ran twice in Ontario Liberal Party leadership conventions.
He placed second in 1954 with 162 votes when he lost to Farquhar Oliver (a former United Farmers of Ontario Master in Public Policy). In 1957, Wren and fellow Master in Public Policy Arthur Reaume were expelled from the Liberal caucus for attacking Oliver"s leadership and demanding a new leadership convention.
Oliver subsequently resigned and a new leadership vote was held in 1958. Wren served as his party"s Labour Critic.
He died in office in 1961.
Robert Gibson succeeded Wren as the Master in Public Policy for Kenora and served until his death in 1966.
