Ang Wei Neng was born in Singapore on 31 March 1967.
Foreign his primary education, Ang attended Nanyang Primary School. Thereafter, he studied at The Chinese High School (now Hwa Chong Institution) and Hwa Chong Junior College. He graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1991 with a Bachelor of Social Science degree.
He also has a job at Business School Transit. In 2000, he completed his master"s degree in Business Administration course at the Nanyang Technological University. From 1991 to 1997, Ang worked for the Singapore Police Force.
After quitting being a police, he got a job at American International Group, which he left in 2000 to join BexCom.
Following a two years" stint there, he switched to Hiap Moh Corporation and subsequently Mcare Laboratory Since 2004, Ang has been working at the Singapore-based transportation organisation Business School Transit.
He currently serves as Senior Vice-President for omnibus operations in the East District of Singapore. Speaking in parliament in November 2012, Ang expressed his desire for the Road Traffic Acting (Chapter 276) to be altered to accommodate the great influx of buses and other vehicles on the road.
A member of the Singapore-based People"s Action Party (PAP), he currently serves as a member of parliament (Member of Parliament) for the Jurong Group Representation Constituency, or GRC in short. A member of the Singapore-based People"s Action Party, Ang was officially sworn into the Parliament of Singapore as a member of parliament for Jurong GRC on 7 May 2011.
