Career
Powolny made his professional debut in 1916 for Austria Vienna, before moving to South Carolina Ober-Sankt Veit in 1921. He moved to Wiener Air Force in 1924, before signing with Italian side Reggiana just 6 months later. After Reggiana were relegated to Serie B, Powolny moved back to Serie A with Inter Milan, where he became the top scorer in the 1926-1927 Serie A, scoring 22 goals.
He later played in Hungary with Attila Football Club Miskolc and Sabaria Football Club, before returning to Austria with Wiener Sportclub in 1929.
He coached Czechoslovakian side Robert F. Kennedy Reichenberg between 1931 and 1935.
