Career
In 1920, Loyd inherited Lockinge House from Lady Wantage, the husband of his father"s second cousin. Loyd was subsequently elected Member of Parliament for Abingdon at a by-election in 1921, and represented the division until he stood down at the 1923 general election. He later served as Lord Lieutenant of Berkshire from 1935 until his death in Stepney in 1944 aged 62.
